13 February is Kiss Day, not Hug Day. Hug Day comes earlier on February 12, so you hug first, then kiss the next day. It’s a logical build-up, really, each day of Valentine Week gets progressively more intimate as you head towards Valentine’s Day on the 14th.
Kiss Day is when couples seal their affection with a kiss, whether it’s a peck on the cheek or something more passionate. It’s meant to be romantic, playful, and a proper warm-up for the main event.
The sequence goes:
- Roses
- Proposals
- Chocolates
- Teddies
- Promises
- Hugs
- Kisses
- then the full Valentine’s Day celebration.
Simple as that. So 13 Feb is definitely kiss territory.
